BOOK REVIEW:

Synopsis:

For years, rumors of the “Marsh Girl” haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet fishing village. Kya Clark is barefoot and wild; unfit for polite society. So in late 1969, when the popular Chase Andrews is found dead, locals immediately suspect her.

But Kya is not what they say. A born naturalist with just one day of school, she takes life's lessons from the land, learning the real ways of the world from the dishonest signals of fireflies. But while she has the skills to live in solitude forever, the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved. Drawn to two young men from town, who are each intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new and startling world–until the unthinkable happens.

Review :

At first, I didn't understand the hype surrounding this book. Most of them said this book is amazing, the book is great and definitely worth the hype.
But I didn't feel that at all for about third fourth of the book I didn't understand the good in this book until that twist in the end make me huh? and turn back the pages to where it all begin.

Though It was amazing to follow Kya lives from childhood to adulthood success by her own hand even with a little help from people around her but I must say she survived on her own. How someone can live with nature without human help at all. I was feeling proud with her achievement and forget the whole problem inside her until the author make us remember again in the last few pages.

It is not a boring read I enjoyed most of it but If it's not because the twist in the ending maybe I won't give it more than 3 stars.
I can say that the ending is quite memorable.
